PoolChoice ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the 13 Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose your personal information.

1. What information we collect

From homeowners

When you submit a quote request, we collect your name, email address, phone number, suburb, state, and pool preferences (including pool type, size, budget, and timeline). You can browse guides, read reviews, and use the directory without providing any personal information.

From builders

When a builder claims or creates a profile, we collect their business name, contact details, service area, licence or registration information, and photos.

Automatically collected

We collect standard analytics data including page views and browser type. This information is used in aggregate only and is not linked to individuals.

2. How we use your information

  • Homeowners: to match your quote request with relevant local builders and send your request to them.
  • Builders: to manage your profile, send lead notifications, and process subscription payments.
  • We do not sell your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Who we share information with

  • When you submit a quote request, your contact details (name, email, phone, suburb, state) are shared with matched builders so they can contact you.
  • We use Stripe for subscription payment processing (builders only). Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data.
  • We use Resend to send transactional emails (quote confirmations, lead notifications).
  • We use Supabase for data storage. Data is stored on AWS infrastructure in the ap-southeast-2 (Sydney) region.

4. Data retention

  • Quote request data is retained for 2 years from the date of submission.
  • You can request deletion of your personal information at any time by emailing us at hello@poolchoice.com.au.
